A striking pair of 1950s Italian Mid-Century Modern reclining armchairs. While covered in different colored faux-leather (one tan/cognac, one deep burgundy), they are identical in their bold, geometric structure, matching dimensions, and mechanical design. Featuring iconic black metal compass legs, adjustable brass feet, and dynamic angular armrests, this pair perfectly embodies the rationalist and industrial aesthetics of post-war Italian design. Condition & Wear (Project Pieces): Both chairs are entirely structural sound and functional, but show clear signs of age and wear on their original skai/faux-leather upholstery: • Tan Armchair: Shows a circular ink mark/scratch on the upper backrest, a tiny hole on the front left of the seat cushion, and minor scuffing on the armrest tips. • Burgundy Armchair: Features a significant tear on the front right corner of the seat cushion exposing the inner foam, along with surface cracking, color fading on the seat, and an indentation on one armrest pad. Selling as a pair, these chairs are ideal as an authentic vintage statement with honest patina, or as the perfect upholstery project to customize in matching fabrics or premium leather for an eclectic modern interior.
