Pair of “Robert” armchairs by Pierre Guariche for Meurop 1962

This sublime pair of Pierre Guariche armchairs, Robert model, is a true gem of French design. Published by Meurop around 1962, these armchairs reflect the fruitful collaboration between the famous French designer and the Belgian publisher, who succeeded in making accessible furniture that was both functional and refined. The armchairs are composed of a black lacquered tubular metal frame, with wooden armrests and original black leatherette upholstery. Very good structural condition: the seat is firm and comfortable, the silhouette sober and minimalist, in the pure Guariche tradition. A few small marks of time are visible (light stains, micro-marks on a backrest, and a small stopped tear on the underside of a seat - see photos), without detracting from the charm or use.
