Antique bridal wardrobe dating from around 1750, originating from Franconia, southern Germany. The heavy, weathered character and the original paintings give the whole a stunning appearance. Both the design of the wardrobe and the painting are authentic and typical examples of folk art from the region. The wardrobe is richly decorated with special marbled motifs in exceptional red, yellow and blue tones. The panels are decorated with atmospheric landscapes, executed in a primitive style. The wardrobe has been professionally checked and restored, with attention to originality and character. Small restorations have taken place, mainly to the legs. The construction is solid, the painting is worn but preserved, and the patina has been left intact. The layout consists of three small shelves on the left side and a rod in the middle. The wardrobe is equipped with a later added lock, which works well and allows the wardrobe to be locked. Bridal wardrobes like this are rarely found. The age, patina and the way this wardrobe is painted make it an exclusive piece of furniture.
