Maitland-smith marble tessellated dining table 1980s usa postmodern vintage

A beautifully 1980s extra-large marble dining table from maitland-smith, the renowned american furniture company. Here a rectangular marble tabletop, with gently curved corners, slots into two statuesque legs, all finished in a wonderful tessellated black and brown pattern that instantly puts you in mind of the opulence and immensity of the mid- to late-eighties. The piece is completed with a brass inlay around the top. This design and colour combination is something of a rarity –– more often than not you would find this pattern in a beige, rather than the dark tones featured on this piece. The tabletop comes off for ease of transportation (see pictures). Overall a good condition for its age.
