Scandinavian Art Deco chest of drawers, 1930s

Art Deco style chest of drawers with three spacious drawers, characterised by the contrast between the light birch fronts and the dark-stained wood structure. Shaped wooden handles and original locks. Scandinavian production, 1930s. Made in Scandinavia in the 1930s, this Art Deco style chest of drawers is distinguished by the striking contrast between light and dark surfaces. The three spacious birch drawer fronts, with their clearly visible grain and natural knots, stand out against the dark-stained wood structure, a tone echoed in the horizontal bands, shaped handles and raised base. The gently rounded corners soften the compact geometry of the piece, while the six symmetrically arranged handles and original locks bring a sense of regularity to the façade. The interplay of different woods and the simplicity of the forms offer a restrained and distinctive interpretation of Scandinavian Art Deco design of the period. Good condition. It may show signs of age. Please pay attention to the photographs. AF391
