It wants for nothing and is ready to hang and display. The painting is signed and dated lower right and titled on the reverse. Robert jones is a british artist and teacher who belongs to a long line of sea painters working on the cornish coast. He was born in newquay, cornwall in 1943 and grew up alongside the wild cornish coast, from which he draws his inspiration. He studied at the falmouth school of art, then the manchester school of art, before travelling and teaching in sussex. He then returned to cornwall with his family and earnt his living for some years as a fisherman. He then started teaching again, and showing his work with increasing success, which allowed him to become a full-time professional artist. Jones is a member of the newlyn society of artists and the penwith society of artists. He has exhibited widely, and his works are now collected nationally. He is also a successful author and recognised authority on the artists alfred wallis and reuben chappell.
