Modernist oil painting by swedish painter torsten torstenson. It was painted by the artist in 1950s. The painting is hand signed in the lower right corner. Made in oil technique on canvas glued on the panel. Framed. Torsten bernhard torstenson, born april 17, 1901 in malmö, died august 5, 1974 in tomelilla, was a swedish painter. Torstenson studied at the campbell school of painting in lund 1919-1922 and through self-study during travels, incl. To france and norway. He exhibited separately at the malmö city hall, the sds room and at landskrona, tomelilla in trelleborg. Together with carl gunn, he exhibited in nässjö in 1947, and from 1925 he participated in the autumn shows of the skåne art association, and from 1932 at the stockholm salons of the swedish general art association. He was represented at the skåneartister exhibition, which was shown at the liljevalch art gallery in 1951 in salonsztokholmskililjevalcha in 1964, in also a series of provincial art exhibitions in various places in skåne. His work consists of still lifes, landscapes and portraits made using the putty technique. Torstenson is represented at stockholm contemporary museum, malmö museum, ystad art museum and trelleborg museum.
