Three-drawer chest in solid walnut, Regency period, dating from the first third of the 18th century. Pronounced bombé silhouette, characteristic of the Regency/Louis XV transition. The drawers are adorned with gilded bronze fittings featuring acanthus leaf motifs, flowers, and rocaille decoration, with asymmetrical lock entries in the emerging rococo style. The structure rests on four sculpted cabriole legs, connected by a geometric diamond-patterned apron. The back is made of squared boards hewn with an axe, a technique typical of 18th-century provincial carpentry. Authentic patina from use. Localised signs of woodworm on the legs, natural wood cracks consistent with the age of the piece. Quality provincial craftsmanship. Workshop report: stable piece, usable as is. A workshop visit is possible upon request for a thorough restoration. Original bronze fittings of fine quality. Dimensions: H. 81 cm – W. 117 cm – Estimated weight: 60 kg.
