2 chairs Thonet N° 461 art nouveau - 1910 - embossed leather

Around 1900, 1903 Thonet seats began to be designed and manufactured, for novelties, with square sections under the influence of the Viennese Secession. Here is a model that appears in the catalog of 1904, which we find in 1906, 1912, 1914, and until 1928. This is the chair n ° 461, here it is in pair upholstered in embossed leather with Art Nouveau pattern. Mahogany shellac varnish. It is easy to see that this chair was canused as to its seat. The cannage at its time of manufacture was not visible but served as a support for the tapestry bottom, we see that it was changed during life and replaced by upholsterer's straps.
