Regency Chair in Ebonised Wood and Gold Leaf Inlaid with Mother of Pearl circa 1815

We are delighted to offer for sale this second-hand bergère chair from the Regency period, original circa 1815, made of ebonised wood, painted with gold leaf and inlaid with mother-of-pearl. A very aesthetic, well-crafted, and decorative chair, a good find for collectors, neither too extravagant nor too aged. The condition is consistent with the period, with some light signs of patina related to age and use, as well as some losses on the inlay as expected. Dimensions: Height: 81.5 cm, Width: 39 cm, Depth: 43.5 cm, Seat height: 44 cm. Measurements taken at the widest point. The condition is visible in the detailed photos that are part of the description. Please note that vintage and period items, such as leather seats, always exhibit a natural patina in the form of creases and wear. An annual waxing is recommended to prevent moisture loss, and do not expose hand-dyed leather directly to sunlight for long periods as it may dry out and discolour.
