19th Century Revolving bookcase

Beautiful antique walnut book mill, very nice quality book mill by the well-known english 19th century furniture maker maple & co. With the characteristic cast iron base. Beautiful lived-in look. Origin: england, approx. 1900. Size: 49cm X 49cm X h.86cm. Its maker maple & co was by the end of the victorian period (c. 1880) the leading manufacturer of quality furniture in the world. The firm has furnished the winter palace of tsar nicholas, the hofburg palace in vienna, all major english embassies around the world, numerous country houses and large hotels. Everyone who was important towards the end of the 19th century had their furniture made by maple & co. The quality and craftsmanship of this furniture is exceptionally beautiful.
