I am selling this magnificent and authentic serving tray from the Napoleonic III era (19th century), made of painted tin (metal). It is a very beautiful period decorative piece, ideal for a classic interior, country house style or château. The centre of the tray features a finely hand-painted period cartouche, representing rich heraldry (coat of arms of the French nobility): The coat of arms: Azure with a chevron gules (red), accompanied at the top by two stars or and at the bottom by a merlette argent resting on a mound. The outer ornaments: The shield is topped with a marquis crown and proudly supported by two rampant lions (gules). Condition: The piece is in its original state, which adds to its charm and guarantees its authenticity. The black lacquered background shows a superb and authentic cracked patina (age cracks) due to time, without compromising the metal's solidity.
