Napoleon iii style pendulum in gilt bronze with dragons and peacock

Period: ca. Late 19th century this gilded bronze pendulum case is a splendid piece of decoration for those who wish to recreate a special atmosphere. He is very napoleon III in style. The round dial is topped with a peacock. Two dragon heads and a mask decorate the lower part as well as various scrolls and other motifs. The rectangular base is decorated with a thick frieze. The back and front have the same decoration, except that the back has a round hole (which would have originally been covered by a plaque) while the front has a (modified) clock face with roman numerals. The clock movement was removed and replaced with a battery-operated clock mechanism (which also doesn't work). It is a very heavy piece. Possibly produced by the german company lenzkirch. Condition: the case itself has no damage, but has some oxidation marks on the base in particular. The movement is missing. Dimensions: 36.5 cm high, 21.3 X 14.7 cm base, 5 kg.
