Pedestal console in pencil reed in the style of Vivai del Sud - 1970s

Dimensions: 29x29cm H:68cm. Origin: Italy. Years: 1970. Material: pencil reed (fine rattan and reed rushes assembled in parallel lines), a technique of weaving and exotic marquetry highly valued in high-end design of the 1970s. The marquetry base attributed to Vivai del Sud (although unmarked) and the symmetry of the design make it a stunning decorative piece. Whether as a plant stand or as a sculpture, the dark bamboo offers a chic texture with a mid-century patina. A second column (different size - different colour) visible in photo no. 2 is available. Sold separately.
