Jean Picart Le Doux, Tribute to Pablo Neruda - Tapestry Screen Print. Signed: Jean Picart Le Doux at the bottom right. French poet, one of the main representatives of the surrealist movement. Jean Picart Le Doux France 1902; 1982: He began in bookbinding and publishing, then dedicated himself to advertising and graphic arts, publishing his first works in 1935. His first tapestry cartoons date from 1943 after winning the first prize for theatre posters at the Salon de l'Imagerie. Before the war, he worked with Jean Lurçat on a cover project for Harper's Bazaar, the latter encouraging him to study tapestry. Between 1939 and 1945, he created his first cartoons without knowing the technique of tapestry. He was a member of the Board of Directors of the Société Nationale des Beaux Arts in the Decorative Arts section from 1975 to 1980. Signed on the front at the bottom right.
