Paimio Armchair No. 41 by Alvar Aalto for Artek, 1931

Great masterpiece by Finnish designer Alvar Aalto, who designed this chair in 1931/32 for the interior of a sanatorium for tuberculosis patients in the Finnish city of Paimio, hence its name. This piece likely dates from the late 1980s. The frame is made of bent laminated birch, and the seat is made of white lacquered plywood. It is in solid vintage condition with some signs of use, such as minor wear on the seat (see all images for a good impression).
