Biography: Cornelis Schermer (1824, The Hague - 1915, The Hague) is a Dutch painter, engraver and draftsman who studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in The Hague. He is a genre painter, he mainly paints horses, but also animals, stable interiors, landscapes. Schermer held several exhibitions in Amsterdam, The Hague, Munich, and Rotterdam (1846–1903). His works are now housed in the Amsterdam and The Hague Art Museum.
