Modern art. An oil on isorel entitled surprise signed lower left visson. Title and signature on the back. Period: xxth to 1990. Golden frame, to note some spots at the bottom of the frame. Dimensions: framed 60 X 50 cm, with sight 44 X 36 cm. Good condition. Ref adequantik 2308239. Philippe visson (1942–2008), american painter of parents of russian origin (real name akivisson), philip (then philippe) was born in new york. His mother, an art historian, was editor of la gazette des beaux-arts from 1930 to 1960, and always frequented the international artistic community. His father was a well-known political journalist for the washington post and the reader's digest. Philippe visson has produced works that are part of the abstract expressionism, new fauves and art brut movements. His paintings have been acquired and exhibited all over the world (cambridge, provo utah, musée cantonal des beaux-arts lausanne, staatliches museum kassel, washington, musée de l'elysée lausanne, etc.). A foundation is dedicated to him in switzerland in particular to establish the catalogue raisonné of his 2500 works.
