Old carpet Keshan Dabir, circa 1920

End kachan dabir, master dabir's workshop, circa 1920. Velvet carpet in silky lamb wool called kork on cotton foundations. Beautiful polychromy, ivory field with large central medallion united with rinceaux and garlands of polychrome flowering palmettes inlaid with a second midnight blue floral with multicolored flowers. Four spandrels with polychrome floral bulbs. Seven borders including the main midnight blue with interlacing palmettes of flowers and foliage surrounded by thin stems of flower buds. Dimensions: 185x145 cm. Condition: poor condition, heavy wear, holes, very damaged edges.
