Christmas serving bowl, French BCI holly ceramic bowl, green glazed

A beautiful French ceramic serving bowl by BCI (Bretagne Céramique Industrie), with a rich glossy green glaze and a raised holly and berry border around the rim. The deep rounded form and wide decorative edge make it especially lovely for a Christmas table, for serving or simply displayed as a seasonal piece. BCI has a long ceramic tradition in Brittany, with the company’s roots going back to the 1930s and a history of making practical French ceramic tableware. The deep green glaze has a wonderful traditional Christmas feel, with the sculpted holly leaves giving the bowl a charming old-world character. It is in very good vintage condition with light signs of previous use; there are some small marks to the glaze and base consistent with age, but no major damage visible.
