Avant-garde bentwood armchair in both its design and manufacturing. Its lines, both elegant and refined, make it a classic in the history of design. The prominent back and armrests are formed from a single curved frame, made from a single piece of wood. Composed of a round seat in robust canework, this authentic and timeless armchair rests on flared legs. The armchair still has the stamp “jacob & josef kohn, wien” under the seat. J. & j. Kohn: jacob & josef kohn was the first competitor of the thonet firm in the early 1900s. The firm hired the avant-garde viennese architects, josef hoffmann, sieget and moser to create attractive modern furniture for a wealthy clientele...******** period: 1900 excellent condition.
