A distinctly aged original Eames Herman Miller EA318 low back aluminium black leather office chair with eggplant purple arms and manual height adjustability. Produced alongside a mesh finished option, this style was the earliest of the Eames aluminium range originally intending to be used outside as well as indoors. It was soon realized that the design was better suited for indoor purposes and, more importantly, for the office environment within which they would find their fame. Individual Characteristics The leather on these chairs is in an aged, used, condition, there are signs of use on the edges and in the finish of the leather too; they would benefit from a good nourish. There is also a lot of age related use evident on the arms which give them an aged character. The painted metal does show signs of its age but the colour is still strong. The aluminium sections, being the back rest and the base, do display their age, but a good polish will help bring them back up. The label on the underside indicates this chair was produced by Herman Miller.
