A 19th century Continental primitive vernacular kitchen or prep table of simple, workmanlike construction. Raised on square tapering legs with a stretcher base and central cross-bracing, giving good structural integrity. The top is formed from wide planks with a gently irregular edge and a well-used surface showing areas of wear, historic marks and tonal variation consistent with age and use. A single drawer sits to one end with a simple turned wooden knob. Solid and usable. The proportions lend themselves well to use as a kitchen prep table, console, or work table. Condition is in line with its age and function — surface wear, minor historic repairs and natural movement to the timber. Structurally sound.
