An italian modern floor lamp, known as the brillo lamp by carlo nason, designed for mazzega in the 60s, is a real example of the italian space age design. The lamp is made out of white hand blown murano glass, but due to the innovative use of a tube of red glass surrounding the bulb, that goes into the white glass, the lower part appears orange when is switched on. The lower and upper parts of the lamp are connected to each other with the steel ring, typical for carlo nason' s design. The lamp is in very good original condition, I have cleaned it and polished the metal parts. The bottom part has a repair that is completely not visible when the lamp is put together. Somebody had secured the stability of the rim, or repaired the glass chip using epoxy resin instead of glass. It is technically absolutely justified, especially that the rim covers it completely. It does not effect the functionality and appearance after applying the element with bulbs, but one can see it when the lamp comes in parts. The floor lamp requires two e27 bulbs. It is supplied with original wiring with a 185 cm long cord and original switch. Detailed dimensions: the upper globe diameter: 40 cm the lower part: h: 50/w: 40/d: 40 cm.
