An art deco Italian chest of drawers, Italy 1940s/1950s. Its distinctive design features rich burl walnut wood patchwork veneers, which create a dramatic, organic grain pattern on the front panels. This long, low-profile chest features a symmetrical arrangement of drawers flanking a central cupboard, highlighted by a decorative inset panel. The warm tones and dramatic grain patterns create a luxurious visual depth, complemented by elegant brass drawer pulls. The piece is framed with carved rope-twist detailing along the edges and raised on sculptural legs, lending it a refined yet distinctive silhouette. The top is fitted with an aqua green glass surface, a typical effect of the period. The top is with high quality, there is only one right angle with minimal defect, consistent with age and use. Very interesting high quality and unique piece of furniture, presenting well the aesthetic sense of the period.
