Blue geometric shape - hand-signed lithograph - jacques poli - numbered 51/120. Sun 31 X 44 cm. Jacques poli is a french painter born july 1, 1938 in nîmes and died april 12, 2002 in paris. From 1960 to 1962, jacques poli studied at the école des beaux-arts in avignon, and from 1966 to 1966 at the école nationale supérieure des beaux-arts in paris in the studio of roger chastel where his classmates were claude viallat, daniel buren, niele toroni, françois rouan, vincent bioulès, michel parmentier, pierre buraglio and joël kermarrec. Jacques poli will find himself brought together by gassiot-talabot with joël kermarrec, hervé télémaque, jan voss among the proponents of narrative figuration, then he will follow his own path. In his early days, jacques poli painted with a spray gun on stretched oilcloths. After 1968, the return to painting involving the hand generated periods or series of paintings. The year 1974 was characterized by the use of industrial tools. Then comes the series of "insects", then the model of european baroque architecture of which he retains only the details. In 1976, he became a professor at the école des beaux-arts in rouen.
