VINTAGE KOKESHI BY SATO SUIGAI / LARGE FORMAT / with its box, its plaque and its base / 46 CM

Magnificent vintage kokeshi decorated with multicolored camellias, subtly shaded. It was created by sato suigai, born in okubo in 1920, he came from a family that worked in silk, he began a career as a painter at the age of 18 and then devoted himself to art of kokeshi from 1948 and also pursued careers in fashion design, engineering and mechanics. Sato san has won numerous awards including that of prime minister in 1966.
