Round presentation plate Lou Basquez manufacture Saint-Amand

I am selling this round presentation dish from the Saint-Amand manufacture, signed Lou Basquez. An elegant piece that will add a refined touch to your table. The piece was made by the Société Amandinoise de Faïencerie, located in Saint-Amand-les-Eaux in the Nord department (France). It is part of the rich faience heritage of Northern France, often associated with the generic name "Saint-Amand" or "Moulin des Loups". The Model and Origin of the Style: the model is called "LOU BASQUEZ". Although made in the heart of Hauts-de-France, this collection is directly inspired by the Basque Country. Very fashionable during the 20th century, this traditional style is characterised on the other side of the dish by a geometric decoration painted in wide crossed bands or two-coloured tiles (generally burgundy red and navy blue) on a cream background. The Date of Manufacture: the specific type of this stamp with the crown and the circular mention "Société Amandinoise Saint-Amand" places the manufacture of this dish between 1900 and the 1930s. The factory adopted this specific name at its creation in 1900. In 1923, following post-war industrial mergers, the company's names began to evolve towards "Saint-Amand-Orchies-Hamage". Therefore, these dishes from this series were produced during this golden age of neo-Basque style in the first third of the 20th century.
