Old wooden box from the 18th century probably for salt

Old small chest. It is made of raw wood (oak) with a rectangular shape. Very old work, certainly at least 18th century. Dovetail and dowel mounting. Use to be defined, perhaps a small salt box. Piece in its original state with age-related defects. Presence of the original lock, but without the key. The cover is cracked and glued back on in the horizontal part. The bottom corners are worm-eaten, there are gaps as a result. Height: 16.3 cm dimensions: 17 X 40 cm weight: 3870 gr, 19623/48+.
