An enormous, hand thrown, pottery pitcher with pouring lip and handle. Perfect for rustic farmhouse kitchens. A delightful pitcher with all the charm of french vintage rural life. The perfect gift for pottery lovers. It has a gorgeous "rough" and "speckled" glaze style that oozes rustic charm. It has all the original clay marks, a "ridged" uneven, surface texture, and undulations - fabulously charming and unique! The bottom has "edge nibbles", a rough texture and a few "grazes" but nothing serious to effect the integrity. It's glaze has dribbles and it has flaws and gouges that were present at the firing and glazing stages, but no cracks post firing. It is still perfectly watertight. It is utterly charming, with it's "dints" and "indentations". A truly rustic treasure "aged to perfection", original and authentic! It's neutral colour makes it the perfect accessory for french provincial interiors. Large, hand thrown jars, such as this one, are increasingly rare to source and are becoming collectors pieces. It weighs 3.2kgs/ 7lbs. It stands 34cms / 12¼" tall, is 14.5cms / 5¾" diameter (at the base), 23cms / 9" at its widest. The opening is 10cms / 4". Et voila!.
