Magnificent antique camphor chest, made of solid camphor wood with finely crafted solid brass fittings. This type of chest, typical of the Anglo-Indian period (late 19th – early 20th century), was used for transporting personal effects or camphor, valued for its natural insect-repelling properties and delicate fragrance. Dimensions: Height: 27 cm. Width: 47.5 cm. Depth: 32.5 cm. Very good overall condition, with some signs of age consistent with its years. Original wood and brass, without major restoration. Sturdy hinges and authentic patina.
