Stair or chenet ball shaped acorn

I think it's a "stairball" but i'm not sure... It could also be a bedside head. It is made of patinated brass, with various and numerous spots and marks, indentations and deformations. The screw thread is at the level of the shrinkage, so provide a screw long enough to be able to fix it, it must be within 6 to 7 mm, difficult to measure accurately. It is 7 cm high and 4.5 cm larger in diameter. It weighs about 80 g.
