Magnificent sculpture representing a mare and her foal, a scene full of tenderness and movement. Very beautiful decorative piece with a deep red finish enhanced by hand-applied gilding (very chic and luminous effect). Signed Jean at the base, it features a typical mid-20th century decorative style, with a lovely visual presence — ideal as a centrepiece on a piece of furniture or a shelf. A rather rare piece in this format, with a true personality. Good overall condition. Some signs of wear related to age. Small chip at the front + small chips on the ears (see photos).
