19th-century fireplace screen by Bouhon Frères in brass

Magnificent and extremely rare brass fireplace screen, dating from the 19th century (circa 1890), by the Bouhon Frères company. Until 1898, Bouhon Frères specialized in bronze fireplaces and accessories. Awarded a gold medal at the 1900 Paris Universal Exposition by the international jury for their screens and andirons, Thomas and Joseph Bouhon received the award. Their pieces are now rare and highly sought after by collectors! This fire screen consists of four fully folding panels. It is lightweight and can be placed in front of the fireplace just as quickly as it can be folded away! It is stamped "FB" on the back of the screen. It has been intentionally left in its original condition, with its numerous signs of wear and age that attest to its age and authenticity: the wire mesh is original, so it has marks, dirt, scratches, and holes... It must have witnessed many long evenings by the fire, so now it's your turn to create some wonderful memories for it! Overall dimensions: 134 cm long / 55 cm high.
