Gae Aulenti Pipistrello Lamp Martinelli Luce 1970s

Large 'Pipistrello' table/floor lamp, model 620, designed by Gae Aulenti in 1965 for Martinelli Luce. This vintage example dates from the 1970s and features a black conical metal base, a telescopic satin-finished metal stem and the distinctive white opal methacrylate diffuser. Its four overlapping sections form the characteristic wing-like silhouette from which the lamp takes its name – Italian for bat. The telescopic mechanism allows the height to be adjusted, making it suitable both as a large table lamp and as a freestanding floor light. Complete with its original Martinelli Luce model 620 label. In good vintage condition with light signs of use consistent with age. Dimensions: height approx. 70–86 cm, shade diameter approx. 55 cm.
