Space age coffee table model Swirl by Miniforms, Italy 1970

For sale is an authentic coffee table model "Swirl" (sometimes referred to as "Orbital") designed and produced by the Italian company MINIFORMS in the 1970s. This piece is an iconic representation of Space Age and atomic design, characterised by a sculptural and dynamic structure. A Radical Design: The base is a complex and fluid structure made of chrome-plated steel, formed of multiple intertwined hoops, creating an impression of perpetual movement and lightness. It supports a large circular top made of smoked glass, characteristic of the aesthetic of this era. The chrome is shiny and not pitted. The glass top is in very good condition. The structure is perfectly stable. There is a slight mark on the underside of the glass only.
