Vintage kerosene lamp consisting of: A hemispherical tank/spinning top and a green glass foot. A glass fireplace lampshade. A brass spout type kosmoss. Since the 17th century, oil lamps had replaced candles in domestic lighting. It was only from 1853 that the finally liquid oil was born: kerosene, invented by the polish pharmacist ignacy lukaszewicz. This very liquid mineral oil ignited more easily than vegetable or animal oils and gave a much better shine. Immediately, it is used in tank lamps in various colors and the kerosene lamp was a symbol of modernity in the 60s; to then live his last days in the remote countryside... This object of nostalgic sweetness will be perfect to create a retro atmosphere in your home. It will also prove very useful during a power outage! H 49.5 cm. Bc 2023-138.
