Co-founder of one-off studio, israeli designer ron arad began producing limited edition furniture in different materials in the early 80s. It didn't take long for his sculptural furniture to shock the design world and make him one of the most influential designers of his time. Since then, he has collaborated with many leading design firms, such as: alessi, kartell, flos and vitra. Ron arad designed the school chair for vitra in 1988. The school chair is a great example of ron arad's design philosophy, a sculptural piece of furniture made with unconventional materials. It consists of a blue-tinted aluminum structure, covered in some places with a black neoprene coating. The school chair was also edited in red and black aluminum.
