Description
Beautiful reproduction copy late 19th / early 20th of a map of paris after an original print by c.j. Visscher, on paper van gelder zonen. Lutetia parisiorum urbs, toto orb celeberrima notissimaque caput regni franciae. At the top and left, weapons of the kingdoms and the city of bets. Below and on the left, in an ornamental cartridge: "this city is another world in a flourishing world, in peoples and in powerful goods that abounds of all things." in the margins: at the bottom, refer to the figures of the plan; left male costumes, right female costumes: the royal... The reyne de france, gentleman... Nice woman of bets, bourgeois... Bourgeois woman of betting... The cartographer tends to tilt much more the horizontal plane of the ground, to make the horizon of the distant hills and the sky appear. The seine no longer appears vertically, but slightly diagonally. With this presentation trick, the great monuments of power that are the louvre, our lady or the town hall, now appear three-quarters (and no longer from the front as in the 16th). Dimensions: 80cm X 54cm. The card will be sent in a roll.
