Beautiful round tray / salver in silver-plated metal from the William Hutton & Sons factory in Sheffield, late 19th century. This lovely model features an elegant raised floral garland in the centre (narcissus or daffodil type flowers with flowing foliage) and a beautiful pierced border adorned with repeated floral and vegetal motifs. The raised edge gives it a lovely presence and a nice play of light. Very clear marks on the reverse (visible in the photos): Oval WH for William Hutton & Sons, Sheffield. Four additional small hallmarks. Pattern number 253326. Registered design number RD 458840. This registered design number RD 458840 can be found on other documented salvers from the same manufacturer. William Hutton & Sons was one of the major manufacturers of quality silver plate in Sheffield at the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th century. Diameter 27 cm|Height 1.5 cm|Weight 611 g. A refined and decorative piece, ideal for: Serving drinks or small treats. Displaying candles, jewellery, perfume bottles, or seasonal arrangements. Adding an authentic touch of Victorian silver plate to a table, console, or dressing table. Very good vintage condition with a beautiful original patina and nice shine.
