This iconic teapot was designed by dorothy hafner for rosenthal in the 1980s. It is part of the so-called 'flash' dinnerware series. With its memphis group style and colourful patterns, it is a statement piece for any design enthusiasts. The teapot is an original piece (not a later reproduction), marked with the moulded porcelain rosenthal mark from the 1980s. Dorothy hafner is an american ceramist known for slip-cast porcelain dinnerware, glazed with colorful, bold graphic patterns. Her designs were often inspired by japanese fabrics and ceramics, as well as living in fast-paced new york. Hafner trained as a painter and sculptor and eventually became a designer of dishware for major firms such as tiffany & co. And rosenthal.
