Aldo Tura, Italian lacquered parchment
Aldo Tura (1909-1963) is an Italian designer and manufacturer whose signature remains one of the most identifiable of Italian post-war decorative furniture. Based in Milan, he founded his workshop in the 1930s and developed there a furniture where goat parchment, glossy lacquer, tinted glass and sculpted horn combined in bold objects: spherical coffee tables, bar globes, rolling trolleys, parchment-framed mirrors. A luxurious and bizarre production that equipped Italian living rooms during the post-war boom, and which now enjoys a new revaluation on the vintage market.
Aldo Tura bar globes, coffee tables and trolleys in lacquered parchment remain the workshop's most iconic pieces. Italian vintage furniture to find for those wanting to bring into their living room a bold and rare Italian decorative signature.
