Hans Olsen, Danish cabinetmaker of friendly dinners

Hans Olsen (1919-1992) is one of the Danish cabinetmakers who turned the dining table into a design object. Trained at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen, he signed in the 1950s and 60s for Frem Røjle, Bramin and Mogens Kold furniture in teak of great functional inventiveness. His Roundette table (1952), round, with four integrated swivel chairs that slide under the top, is a statement: the meal is convivial, storage perfect. A signature that crosses attention to detail and pleasure of use, rediscovered today by lovers of clever Scandinavian design.

The Roundette table in teak with its integrated chairs remains Hans Olsen's most iconic piece, edited by Frem Røjle. Scandinavian vintage furniture to find for those wanting an inventive and convivial Danish signature.
