Niels Koefoed, the Danish Ingrid chair

Niels Koefoed (1929-2003) is a Danish cabinetmaker whose production marked Scandinavian teak furniture in the 60s. Son of cabinetmaker Lars Koefoed, he joined the family workshop in Hornslet then founded his own brand Koefoed Hornslet. His Ingrid chair (1963), with shaped vertical slats, his Lis chair and teak dining tables remain the most recognisable pieces of a serial production that equipped Scandinavian post-war interiors, and that European collectors are rediscovering in recent years.

The Ingrid chair and Koefoed Hornslet teak tables remain Niels Koefoed's most recognisable pieces. Scandinavian vintage furniture to find for those wanting a serial Danish signature, at still very accessible prices.
