8 vintage Danish teak chairs model Lis, Niels Koefoed, 1960s 1970s

Impressive set of 8 Scandinavian chairs in solid teak, model Lis, by Danish designer Niels Koefoed, edition Koefoeds Hornslet, 1961. The Lis model is one of the 4 chair designs created by Danish designer Niels Koefoed. Each model is named after one of his children or women who were significant in his life: Lis, Eva, Ingrid, and Peter. Here, we find a high backrest that is very sculptural, slightly curved, and an overall elegant and slender line. The rear legs are also slightly angled to ensure the comfort of the chairs and highlight this unique design. Every element of their shape has been carefully crafted for comfort and elegance. A typically Danish design with beautifully executed details in high-quality solid teak wood. The 8 chairs are in superb condition. The solid teak wood structures are in perfect condition, having been recently renovated and oiled. The seat cushions have been reupholstered in beautiful cream velvet, and new foam has been added to restore their original comfort. All chairs are stamped with the Koefoeds Hornslet publishing house and the Danish provenance "Danish control." Seat height: 45cm.
