Poul Henningsen, designer of the PH lamps

Poul Henningsen (1894-1967) invented Danish light. An architect, journalist and committed intellectual, he signed from 1925 onwards for the publisher Louis Poulsen the PH series, where each lamp is born from a scientific study of light diffusion: three superimposed shades distribute light without ever dazzling. The PH 5 (1958), PH Artichoke (1958) and PH Snowball (1958) have become the global standards of Danish lighting. Ninety years later, the PHs are still edited by Louis Poulsen, and remain one of the most reissued signatures in design history.

The PH 5, PH Artichoke and PH Snowball from Louis Poulsen remain Poul Henningsen's most iconic pieces. Danish vintage lighting to find for those wanting an absolute signature of Scandinavian design, and a scientifically perfect lamp.
