Georges Frydman, EFA modernist furniture
Georges Frydman (1923-2009) is a French designer little known to the general public but essential in the history of Reconstruction modernist furniture. Founder in 1948 of EFA (Ébénisterie Française Artistique), he developed there for three decades a production of desks, bookshelves, armchairs and tables where Italian school influence mixed with French sobriety. Air France airport furniture, school furniture, domestic furniture: his signature equipped French institutions and interiors during the post-war boom.
Georges Frydman desks and bookshelves edited by EFA, in solid wood and lacquered metal, remain the designer's most identifiable pieces. French vintage furniture to find for those wanting a French modernist signature from the 50s-60s, at very accessible prices.
