Barovier & Toso, seven centuries of Murano glass

Barovier & Toso is one of the oldest glass houses in the world. Founded in Murano in 1295, it has been run for seven hundred years by the same family of master glassmakers, making it one of the oldest industrial dynasties in history. In the 20th century, under the impetus of Ercole Barovier then Angelo Barovier, the house modernised and collaborated with the greatest Italian designers. Vases, chandeliers and sconces signed Barovier & Toso remain the absolute references of modern Venetian art glass.

Blown glass vases, chandeliers and sconces by Barovier & Toso, from the 1950s to the 80s, remain the most sought-after Murano glass pieces on the vintage market. A signature to find for those who want Italian art glass with an indisputable historic provenance.
