Armchair Thonet model "Capua"

Armchair Thonet 1920s-variant of the model 519 designed in 1913 by Adolf Loos for the Café Capua Vienna and found in the first post-war catalogue in 1920 with a new form of armrests. Our copy is an optional version with front feet conical rights that are already found in series on neighboring models, judged certainly more "modern" by the sponsor than the old style called "Queen Anne". The seat is trimmed (also an option of the catalogue), in the State coated with a camel-coloured leatherette which had to replace at some point a damaged original fabric. Note that the latter, although in excellent condition, can be changed to the environment thanks to the very practical system of (de-and re-) mounting of the seat (see picture below). Under the seat is the mark of the THONET (now Czechoslovakian) stamp used for Francophone regions after 1918. Very good condition, piece of beautiful template, massive and can not be stable anymore. Height 97 cm-seat: 48 x 45 cm-seat height 48 cm.
