Table lamp model Bijou by Louis Kalff for Philips

During the 1950's, chief of design Louis Kalff designed many iconic lamps for Philips. This is one of them, model bijou. It is a desk or table lamp in typical space-age styling. The tripod base is an example of this. You will find this lamp mostly in the color dark green, with a gold colored base. This is a more rare combination, in the original colors orange and white. Totally cool! The lamp is in good condition, but the paint has some traces of use. Especially the edges of the lamp shade show sings of wear. I tried to make clear pictures of this. I think these traces of use do not diminish the overall quality of this lamp, even though I do not like using the word 'patina'. It simply is a great lamp that has been used for almost 70 years.
